Papoula Rubra iniciou-se profissionalmente como psicóloga social, quando atuou em políticas públicas e no terceiro setor. Em 2015 empreendeu as primeiras ações visando à carreira artística e literária, por meio do nome artístico Paula Peregrina, vigente até 2021. Desde então, articula produções artísticas e literárias com atividades de pesquisa acadêmica e extra-acadêmica na área de artes visuais, sob perspectivas teórica e poética, com ênfase na arte contemporânea e especial interesse nas questões afetivas, psicossociais e de gênero. Utiliza como principais técnicas artísticas pintura, vídeo, performance e intervenção. Pratica a escrita crítica e poética em diferentes formatos, com preferência pela prosa em suas múltiplas possibilidades. Trabalhou em revistas sobre arte; como analista e coordenadora de conteúdo em marketing digital; educadora e psicóloga social. Dentre suas realizações destacam-se: residência artística no Kaaysá Arte Residence (2024), a partir de aprovação no edital da Lei Paulo Gustavo de Minas Gerais (2023); participação no 50º Salão Luiz Sacilotto de Santo André com a performance e instalação Jornada Impossível (2022); realização da performance digital A Artista está Conectada (2021) como parte da programação do Memorial Minas Gerais Vale; participação da exposição digital Sala Compacta do Museu de Arte de Goiânia (MAG) com a intervenção digital Vendo ou Troco (2021), condecorada com o Prêmio Aquisição; publicação do romance Terras Secas, a partir de seleção no Edital Descentra Cultura 2015 de Belo Horizonte e publicação do livro híbrido Mulheres Falando Só, cuja narrativa é composta por prosa poética, contos, poesias e fotografias estruturadas sob a ótica do romance. Foi responsável pela coluna O Belo Visto no site Homo Literatus (2021); colaborou como colunista nos sites Obvious Magazine (2015-2016) e ContiOutra (2015-2016).
